Rainscapers understand stormwater management concepts and the rainfall / runoff footprint of landscapes. Rainscapers have been trained and have professional experience in the design, installation, and / or maintenance of Rainscaping practices.

Becoming a Certified Rainscaper
1. Rainscaper-In-Training.
- Attend Rainscaping Iowa training workshop.
- Pass written exam, given at the conclusion of each workshop.
2. Certified Rainscapers.
- Complete case studies required for each Rainscaping practice, within 12 months from training.
– At this point, a designation between Designer, Installer or Both is established.
- Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) Urban Conservationists review case study technical design and function.
- Certified Rainscaper status is reviewed and approved by Rainscaping Iowa Advisory Board.
- Submit Membership Brochure, signed Code of Ethics and annual membership fee to Rainscaping Iowa.
Certified Rainscapers enjoy a number of benefits, including recognition and promotion on Rainscaping Iowa website.
