Design Details

Restoring soil quality during new construction is a pretty straightforward process.  There are 7 methods for new construction.  Which one you use depends on whether you disturb the site or not and the depth of existing topsoil.

Restoring soil quality with an existing lawn can be done on your own or hired out.  It is a four step process with the goal being increased soil organic matter content.

  1. Aerate your lawn
  2. Spread 1/4 - 1/2" of good quality, mature compost
  3. Reseed if your lawn is looking sparse or has bare spots
  4. Water as necessary until vegetation is established
